Socks With a Twist

 

 

Sock cuff is worked in Barley Sugar stitch over a multiple of 11 stitches.

 

On #2 needles, cast on 66 stitches.

 

Join together and:

  1. Purl 1 round.
  2. Knit next round.
  3. Purl 1 round.

 

Begin pattern stitch below:

 

Barley Sugar Stitch:

 

Round 1: *Sl1 – K1 – PSSO, K6, YO, K3*; repeat**

 

Round 2: Knit.

 

Repeat these two pattern rows for desired sock cuff length.

 

Knit ½” to 1 plain stockinette stitch before beginning heel.

as published in Knitters Magazine, Fall 2003.

 

Feel free to continue your sock to completion with whatever heel and toe

you prefer.
